Role overview
In this role as Project Assistant, the main objective is to
provide adequate guidance and supervision towards community volunteers and
National volunteers under the Youth Interactive Theatre. While planning and
optimising logistic matters you are also expected to maintain good relations
with stakeholders. The optimal candidate will furthermore facilitate personal
development for the Community volunteers.
Skills, qualifications and experience
- Bachelor degree is social science or relevant,
- 2 years of experience working with youth, Administration and logistic.
- Youth Work
- Proven experience of working with youths from a wide range of backgrounds with proven ability to facilitate learning in a non-formal environment
Cross-Cultural Working
Experience of working cross-culturally and able to
communicate to a range of audiences and promote sharing and learning between
cultures
Communication
Possession of strong verbal and written communication skills
in Swahili and English.
Planning and Organising
Experience in planning agreed objectives and a track record
of keeping deadlines and involving key individuals in the planning process.
Desirable
International Development
Knowledge of issues which are common to communities in
developing countries, possibly achieved through working within an NGO.
Volunteering
Sufficient experience of working with volunteers to
understand the key factors which make volunteer placements viable, effective
and rewarding.
